Recently there is a rumor of an upcoming Olympus m43 flagship in Feb 8 2012. The rumored spec are shown below:-- 1.44 million dot viewfinder. This is going to be long and take some of your time but reading this thread is much easier than creating it. So I hope you can spare this little time to finish reading it. Please caution your family members and friends before they become victims.
I hope you will read to the end for your own benefits and protection. I will come back regularly to update it but I hope some of you can help by contributing. Date of last update will be stated in my topic title.
I have even seen a family of parents and their children getting involved together in a scam. Such that you will not feel suspiscious until you could not recover your money back and realise it too late.
Please note that my message here is NOT meant to support or go against MLM or direct-selling business.
Personally, I have a few friends who used to tell me that they will never be cheated because they are not greedy, they don't believe in MLM or network marketing or they have no money. Yet they lost their money because they have been greedy or because they trusted their friends wrongly. In most cases, those who introduced their friends to get involved into such businesses or investments or got their friends into losing monies will never admit they did it intentionally but claim innocent. They will give the excuses that they are victims too.

These information are meant for you to know and warn your family members and loved ones before they become victims.

"People got victimised by scams because they don't know about it and they don't know about it because those who knew about it did not share it"

Here are some hot scams(new scams no.21 down below) in Malaysia, briefly, (I will elaborate more if you contribute):

1) The Cafe Scams - Island Red Cafe & Stevens Corner(strange, both in Pandan Indah) - Island Red Cafe collects members RM6,000 each and promised 5% return every month and even give you a name in the ROC as a shareholder but what's the point when they run away ? Stevens Corner, the famous indian coffee shop follows due to drop of business since their renovation. They collect RM3,000 per member and promise return of RM150 monthly and plans to open nice fanchisee cafe called StevensTeaGarden. Someone mentioned they will make you sign an agreement that give them the rights NOT to pay you anything in future. If you really wish to join, ask for a copy of their agreement and consult your lawyer BEFORE paying them. Bet you will NOT get a copy. Both collect monies from new members with MLM recruitment schemes and pay the old members like Sunshine Empire. You never know when they will run away.

2) Sunshine Empire - This licensed and legal Company has an impressive office at the ground level of KUB building along Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, near Menara Public Bank and AmBank Building. They also have a showroom office at the ground level in the next building. 2 or 3 months ago, Singapore's Straits Times and The Paper published big news reminding their people to be careful and NOT to believe in them. Hope someone can put up the link or google for it.(As expected, they STOPPED paying back members now and all investors LOST their money).

Someone below has put a link to the Singapore news. In fact there are more to it. Although Singapore is investigating them, they did not stop their business as the business is legal and so far, no Singaporean have failed to receive their commissions as promised. Thus, the government cannot stop them yet.

The news published that the founder, director and group president is someone named James Phang but he is NOT the owner. Isn't this quite strange ? At the end of the game, James Phang can just disappear from the Company easily and claimed that he was just "employed". Such trick always happened in scam businesses.

Now, the Company has STOPPED paying commissions and interests to members with the excuse that the Singapore government has freezed their bank account while under investigation. Do you think their boss will be so stupid to keep much monies in the bank to be freezed ? They are all transfered away. It's just an excuses not to pay back to members and members are only paid "e-bonus-points" which is cashless. If they wish to convert to cash, they have to recruit new members to pay them cash and the recruiter less out trom the amount. So victims act like Vampires and "forced" to victimise other victims if they wish to get their monies back. And their victims will later transform to vampires and the scam carries on.....

3) MOBILWALLET - This Company owned by 2 young men, Stanley & Rey Gan, office in Queens Avenue Park has collect multi-millions the last 2 years. Claimed that they tied up with Telekoms, Utility Board payment like Water & Electricity bills, even Maybank got fooled by them. Advertisement Billboards everywhere. They STOPPED paying back their members few months ago and the members cannot do anything because they are made to sign an agreement unaware that they have to claims if the company stopped paying them by CHANGING terms and policies.

4) Water businesses - Oxygenated and alkaline water products - Some of these are bottled water and some are filters or equipment that claimed the trick. One of the better known Company that sold "oxygen" water is SITO(supposed to stand for Selangor International Trading Organiszation and claimed Selangor State Government owned some share in it). The key person and founder is a Dato Robert Ong from Rawang but his name is no longer in the business now. Their products are sold for RM2 to RM3 for a 350ml bottle and now concentrating mostly in the Indian market. Their Chinese and Malays market are long gone since a year or 2 ago. Their customers are made to believe that their water has more oxygen and able to give miraculous effects for the body. Water is H2O, how to put more O into it ? Anyone knows how much oxygen do we breathe into our body everyday at FOC ? Latest news is that this SITO Company is going to create new label to market under a new Company since the SITO name has already gone bad. Someone informed that this Company is owing alot of money(due to refunds) to ex-stockists but just refuse to pay them.
(Latest news, SITO shifted to another place and their MLM business has closed but planning to start again with a different name, beware !!)
Alkaline Products - Can anyone explain how it can work for the body ? The stomach's gastric liquid is so acidic that water of any pH that goes through it will not make any difference.

5) Car Fuel Booster - K-Link, the famous scam MLM Company that sold the footpatch TAKARA, later the "cock-ring" and energy-card launched the patrol-saving pills last year. Got so hot that even grocery shops are selling for them. Recently many of these cars that used the pills are rushing to the workshops to clean the residual. Few months ago, another MLM Company launched a fuel booster gadget, claimed that saves up to 20% fuel, that is attached to the cigarette lighter. Started off well using binary plan but businese begin to fade now and most users find it NOT effective.

6) Perfumery Products(eg. Lampe Berger & Bel Air)(more details later). Lampe Berger is not so hot now in the neighbouring countries but there are still new victims every month in Malaysia. Must thanks to those who have contributed and kept the thread alive here in Kopitiam. Bel-Air have closed in Malaysia. LB is almost zero in Singapore. This perfumery product from France with over 100 years history are just bottles and fragrances(check the factory's website) but the Company marketing them in Asia claimed "aromatheraphy" products. Hong Kong TVB aired a program that exposed their scam but their members claimed that HK's TVB already apologised to them(no evidence, of course). Note that the biggest strenght in a MLM Scam is their members will go all the way to lie in order to defend for their Company. The reason is simple; these members fear that they will not be able to make their money back if the Company collapsed. Knowing that the Lampe Berger products are moving slow, they add a line of skincare products named Estebel, also claime to have over 100 years history in France.(Hardly anymore Chinese newcomers, they are now tapping the Malays in Malaysia). Mostly only Bumis active members now but their top earner Steven Yeam have already left and started a new MLM Company(see No. 21 below).

7) Energy Products(eg. stone pendants, bracelets, mattress and pillows). They use all sorts of gimmicks and demonstration to make you into believing them. They will do some tricks and demo to prove that these products really produce energy BUT is there any tricks in their demo ? So what if there really produce energy; is it good or strong enough to help the body ? Are those simple products made of some simple materials worth RM300 to up to RM3000 each ? The effect is actually PLACEBO which I will elaborate in a new thread soon.(more details later)

8) Hi-Tech products(names like bio-tech, nano-tech that claimed millions of dollars of research involved, eg Bio-Young and XKL few years ago). Most of these will claimed a professor behind them(even with name and picture of a person) or used words like "U.S.A. formula", "German Technology" or "Nanotechnology" but with no further details. If you ask for more details like the professor or factory's address, the answer will be "trade secrets".

9) Investment Schemes - SWISSCASH is the King of all. Swisscash is nearly over now but there are many similar and smaller ones that are still on.(Now, it's closed or stopped paying back members)

10) GoldQuest - This Company that claimed to be HK-based started with some non-value gold-plated coins that are sold for over RM2,000 have several names and changed products several times. QuestVacation, QuestNet, etc. They have several offices in Amcorp Mall, PJ and their key person(in fact, the owner), a Malaysian Indian was arrested last year in Indonesia for having involved in a very big Phillipines scam. Most of their overseas offices are closed or inactive but their Malaysia business is still hot, with some "energy" products.(Can someone please provide a link which showed the news that their boss was involved in a big scam in Philippines and was arrested last year ?)

11) Numerology & Fortune telling - A Company named Visiber is using MLM to sell fortune telling classes using your birthday based on Numerology fortune telling. Prpspects will be told that they need to buy a certain "number" between 1 to 9 in the form of pendants or bracelets made of silver with stainless steel or platinum plated, and sold from RM600 to RM20,000. Customers, or rather victims are mostly females from rural areas. Very hot in Penang now and a number of spin-off Companies have started.

12) MJ-Life - This Company boost of a very big background with many many years of history which is NOT true. Their people or associates may be long in business but nothing to do with their MLM launched recently. Why do I consider it a scam or bad ? New members are told to pay a sum of money(up to RM1000) and you get NOTHING for it. You only get a membership can entitle you to enjoy all sorts of special price and discounts when you have medical check-ups in their centres. They will claim all those check-ups cost more if done elsewhere. It's not true. Only the naive and those new to medical check-ups will fall victims to them. Most members who paid the money ended up with nothing.

13) Seaweed Venture Scams - 1 such Company is located in Taman Maluri, Cheras. They will ask you to invest a few thousands ringgits for their venture of growing seaweeds in East Malaysia and you are guaranteed returns. To gain your confidence further, they will tell you your investment money is secured by "insurance" or "unit trusts" & "trustees". When you ask for further documents to prove, they will give all sorts of excuses or just ignore you because they know they cannot get you. These Seaweed scam is one of the hottest now, warn all your friends about it before they are victimised.

14) MXM(previously MGM) - This is a master scam owned by a Dato Kam(Pathlab) tapping the younger group, very successful 2 or 3 years ago but since they moved to their big 10-storey office at Phileo Damansara and changed name to MXM, their business dropped. They collect members RM3,000 to RM4,000 with credit card monthly easy payment and in return you get a hospital benefits insurance from Pacific Insurance worth only a few hundred RMs together with some you-don't-need medical check-ups from their associate Company Pathlab. Also talk about fitness, lifestyles bullshit that is all worthless.

15) Gano Excel/I-Touch Life/GEW2u - This company from the north, a copycat of DXN selling Lingzhi capsules created a new Company called Gano iTouch to cash-in on the internet like e-Cosway after their Company went down the drain since the last 2 years, selling Linzhi and some no-value energy pendants and alkaline water gadgets. They provide free transport every weekend from KL to visit their Alor Star office. It did not work well and recently in mid-2009 changed name to GEW.

16) NuLife(HK) - This Company started by some HK people has been in Malaysia for more than 10 years but they have flopped in HK and Malaysia due to bad management and a product scam making use of a prosecuted American named Dr Jeffrey Bland, found guilty of false products claim. Since this case in the US leaked out and many Malaysians found out that the real boss in HK is a Steven Tang(he cheated many Malaysians in another scheme about 20 years ago) their business went down all the way. Now they claim Malaysian partners cheated them and start a new Company in Malaysia. Watch out, this new Company will come out with some investment scheme idea that will get many to lose their money.

17) Arowana Fish Breeding, Oora from Germany, Biofuel(Kompleks Maluri) etc - These are some newer scams. Arowana fish venture ask you to invest some money and give you fixed return. Biofuel will tell you their Indonesia connections(just like Sunshine Empire before using Taiwan) & Oora from Germany(I never trust those cruel Germans) that market some bio-chips and a gadget that claims to give energy and therapeutic effects of accupunture, tai-chi, yoga, etc depending how you set the toy-like gadget, wear it on your body and you get the effect later. They could not explain or provide any demonstration to prove their effectiveness. Only doctors and papers claim that I will never trust. The health effect is actually PLACEBO, which I will elaborate in a different thread.

18) Easy-Pharmax !! - How could I missed this out earlier. I thought I mentioned this until I got e-mails asking me about it. This is easily in the TOP 3 during the last 2 years. Owned by a Dato Yeap(another Dato !!) Members are tricked to invest up to RM40,000 with the false promise that the Company will use e-commerce and online selling to dispose their goods and recover their monies. It won't happen, of course.

19) Gold Investment Scheme - This is an old trick but back again by several Companies promising a GURANTEE FIXED RETURN income like many other schemes. Try to ask for a copy of their fixed return agreement and consult your lawyer. Common sense tell you any business that promises a fixed return to UNLIMITED numbers of investors, higher than bank interests must be a scam.

20) Score-A or Skor-A: This Company sells you an online program of past Malaysian examinations papers for primary and secondary school students for self-testing for up to a few hundred RMs per membership. It actually cost them nothing. Members are told to invest in a few units, again using MLM with the promise of getting rich. The same program can be purchased from Utusan for just a fraction of their price and you can get better programs.

21) NEW SCAMS :

a) GRI(Global Royal International) - The boss behind this scheme is multi-billionaire James Pang(the big scammer waiting for trial in Singapore because of Sunshine Empire). Before Sunshine Empire, he operated NOP and SwissCash. This time, he is using a lot of representatives and MLM leaders since his passport is held by Singapore government and he cannot come to Malaysia. I am told that anyone who is bold enough to call himself a MLM leader in Malaysia can visit his rep in Malaysia or Singapre and they will be given at least RM5,000 as some expenses subdsidy if you are willing to market for them.

b) One Community Worldwide - Tapping a mostly Bumi market and owned by Steven Yeam(SYN) and Willie Lim of Lampe Berger previously(the Chinese no longer trust them). They are selling a negative ion mattress for RM25,000 !! The same modal, I have seen before for RM2000 from Korea. If you cannot afford RM25K ??? You can buy therapy package for RM300. Don't believe in such product ? You can go for some chlorostrum(virgin cow's milk from nowhere)

c) English-Learning Program Online - ESL(an online English learning program) You are asked to pay RM100 for one or 2 years usage of online learning. Started by a Malaysian Indian man by the name of Dr. Edward, this program has changed names at least 2 or 3 times since the last one year due to poor response and a lot of "technical problems". I consider it a scam because you are paying money for nothing tangible to direct-selling company through MLM and their program has been very "unstable" as my source put it.

Lastly but not least, thank you for reading to the end and I hope you can come back for more details and updates or help to contribute for me to update. I hope to receive information of any scams so that I can share them here to protect others. Although most of those above-mentioned are marketed through direct-selling or MLM schemes, I will soon add non-MLM scams. Please contribute.

I would say Thong Sia Sdn Bhd which is the authorise Seiko disti in Malaysia have one of the worst customer service i ever seen. When you send in a watch for repair. Do take note that the customer service will mark everything as "scratch" by default. It does not matter if your watch is sparkling new. It is their method to cover up in case their technician screw up.

My unit was send in to the service center to repair the internal parts because i have left it in my drybox for 5 years and it has stop working. Talk about bad quality...cheh...
Then when i collect my unit bad i was angry because they damage my watch Bezel. To make matter worst they claim i have damage all the 3 area on the Bezel on my own before i send in my unit..!! But the job sheet clearly did not spot this when i first send it. And for god sake how do i strategicly corrode/dent/scratch 3 specific area on my Bezel only where the rest of the area in the Bezel is like sparkling new??

This is going to be my last Seiko watch. For Malaysian outthere stay away from Seiko. Just to share another story. I also witness a guy who bring in his Seiko Kinetic watch. The longer pointer/wand/needle will jerk/vibrate when it pass through the 12 o clock and the service center refuse to take it in because they claim that the user hand is too big and this cause this to happen! WTF..is the lamest excuse i ever heard. So guys/gals you are better off with other watch brand..Seiko Malaysia is hopeless/lousy and it sucks...

KL Bird Park with Olympus E3 and Zuiko 70-300mm

I must say that the Olympus E3 SLR is just like an extinct species...if you ever get caught using this SLR , people will give you the staring look, wondering how come this guy still using Olympus SLR!!

Anyway i went for a walk in KL Bird park with my trusted Zuiko 70-300mm lens. I did not use a tripod nor do any special preparation this time because this is my family outing with my 7 months old baby Emma!

hmm just a tips for beginner who like to take picture of birds too..

1. Use high iso such as 400 or 800 if you need to. It really depend on the weather! If it is a bright sunny day, you can always get away with iso 100 or 200
2. Use fast shutter speed. Let say if you use 300mm which is like 600mm equivalent cause Olympus is x2..you need to set the shutter speed to 1/300 at least. You can try 1/100 to 1/200 but you need to turn on the Image Stabiliser. Shutter speed = 1/Focal length

If you shoot RAW using your Olympus camera, you would not be able to view it in your computer unless you install the RAW codec. RAW stands for unedited content when you capture using your camera..

I use this monitor mainly with my Alienware M11x. And the CPU on the M11x isn;t really great. It can play all the usual MKV or other video files but at full HD such as the Avatar 3D Bluray Rip with 18GB + size, the video will lag/jerk/stutter. I guess the OS is not smart enought to use the CUDA technology from the powerful graphic card for video decoding! But luckily NVIDIA gives me a good temp solution. Download the beta GPU driver 290.53-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta from NVIDIA website and install it. Somehow after installing this beta driver, i can play all video files smoothly including those FULL HD 3D movie! Great news isn't it?

And another thing to add on is the viewing angle is great. I dont need to sit right in the middle to get the 3D experience.And the glass which use FPR technology is cheap too unlike those active shutter 3D technology which require super GPU and expensive glasses.

Summary:-
I would recommend this monitor to all 3D lovers..definitely a must especially if you have other 3D device like HTC EVO 3D and loves to watch 3D movie.

I would like to share a few sentences which you can use to save your ass at your work place..

1. If people ask you to volunteer for a job. You dont want to do it but your also want to show your boss you got team work...what should you say???
Solution: Tell them this - " I volunteer for this task, i am willing to help but i am fairly new in this so i would require assistant on this. Furthermore i am busy with existing task at hand and would only be able to spare 2 hours for this task!"
Explantion: 2 hours is just good for a kick start meeting! It is another way of saying goto hell i am not going to help you.

Howto Gain Admin Rights is Windows 7

1. Press the power button to turn on your computer.
2. While your on the screen with the animated Microsoft logo press and hold the power button until it turns off.
3. Press the power button to turn on again.
4. You should now see the option to launch Start Up Repair. Select the option and press enter.
5. Run Startup Repair.
6. You should see a blue bar that moves across the screen repeatedly. Above it should be messages that say "searching for problems" or something.
7. The message should change to "Attempting repairs" within a few minutes.
8. Leave the computer running. This message should be there for 10-40 minutes depending on your computer.
9. After 10-40mins a message should pop up that says "start up repair could not fix the problem". Click the arrow next to "show problem details".
10. Scroll to the bottom and click the link to the .txt file.
11. Notepad should open up with the file.
12. In notepad click File->Open.
13. You can now use the file browser to perform the sethc.exe hack.
14. Go to C:\Windows\system32 and find sethc.exe and rename it to random.exe or something.
15. Copy the cmd.exe and rename the copied file to sethc.exe
16. Restart the computer and at the login screen press the "shift" key 5 times in quick succession.
17. Type in the cmd window "control userpasswords2" without the quotation marks.

Jays V-Jays is a new open portable headphone from Jays made in Sweden.
This phone is bright with good high and mid. The bass is there but not as punchy as Superlux HD661 or AKG K430 but the good thing is the bass is well controlled and dont creep over to the mid and high region.

By default it comes with a pair of extra earpad cover but it did not come with a headphone pouch..wtf..even a cheap Superlux HD572 come with an earphone pouch.

In term of size and weight and comfort..i think the V-jays win over my sennheiser HD238, AKG K430 and Superlux HD572.

In term of design it has the most minimalist look. Minimalist can be bad or good..Is either you hate it or love it..

Superlux Hd440 is on a class of its own. To Superlux fan who are already familiar with HD660 sound will be delighted to listen to HD440. It is a much better version of HD660. Well i would not say better because it has an entirely different sound signature from the usual Superlux Offering..I think it has the best midrange among the Superlux. It is clearly a mid centric type of headphone.

Let me settle for a week first before giving any more description on the sound quality:)

The look

The headband is non adjustable however it feel much more comfortable compare to Superlux Hd668b. Perhaps due to the material being used. It has a glossy finishing looks. Once you wear in on your head it will look like those anime character with futuristic headphone on your head!

Out of the box the clamping force is quite hard..but not entirely unbearable..wear it a few more time and it will loosen up..it is plastic after all. You will get a good fit maybe after wearing for 2 weeks.

I am new to audiophile world and i wont be using big words to describe the sound quality.
Compare to other Superlux HD6xx this is a much more balance headphone accross the range. It definitely fit into the monitoring division because of the good treble and
strong bass response. However the overall sound quality improve when i plug in into the Fiio E11 portable Amp. Maybe i like hard punchy bass and the Fiio E11 do exactly what it is suppose to do..to give me better mid and punchy bass. It do not alter the high characteristic that much and the bass certainly do not overpower the mid and high and stay in where it suppose to be :)

Without amp the HD661 is suitable to classical music, voice audiophile recording, and basically for monitoring stuff. However with amp you can extend it usage to RnB, rock and Dance etc..

My take is i would definitely like this over the old HD668b. It just like an reincarnation of the already legendary (due to its price factor vs performance) Superlux HD668b

At RM190 this is definitely a bargain headphone. You wont go wrong with this :)

Ok all those spec above is taken from Superlux web site. Let me try to give you a first impression of this headset but please bear in mind i am not a pro reviewer or an expert in audiophile. I am just a beginner.

The size and design

I like to compare it with my AKG K430 and sennheiser HD238 because they are design with on thing in mind which is PORTABILITY. But from the picture above you can see the 3 in comparison before and after fold up.

It is very light and comparable to sennheiser HD238. The whole headphone is made from plastic. It is quite sturdy. It has a individual cable for left and right channel. The cable is thick too and look durable compare to both the AKG and Sennheiser which is a shame cause the price i pay for this HD572 is just rm59!

The sound

I test the HD572 out from the box. It is a bright headphone. The bass can be punchy but when i drive it using my laptop, the bass is lacking..at first i thought it is my headphone issue. The i plug in to my Fiio E11 portable amp and voila!! This headphone come alive..i can hear all the punchy bass from the Boom boom Pow song by Black Eye Pea.

I think everyone know how a sennheiser HD238 sound like. Wide soundstage, good mid and high which give you in front of stage/in hall feel. The AKG K430 gives you the on stage feel which is suitable for bassy song..If for vocal and instrumental or concert i will choose the sennheiser. Superlux HD572 has the on stage feel. It is like AKG K430 but minus the bright treble. I feel that sometime AKG K430 can be too bright but on the other hand Superlux HD572 is just nice!

Pros: Give you punch bass, good mid and high.
Light weight plastic made this headphone comfortable to wear.
Super Cheap price !!! at only RM59

Cons: It needs a portable amp to draw out its real potential.
the material for the earcup is of low quality and i doubt it can withstand
abuse.

Superlux Hd661, HD440 and the gang..

Recently Superlux launch they flagship monitoring earphone HD661. This earphone is supercool. It have the HD668b sound signature with a tad bit improvement but whole new shiny design is what caught my attention!

Another headphone that worth mentioning is HD440. My first impression is that it has a very wide soundstage..and a smooth sound to it similar to sennheiser headphone.. And this baby is comfortable to wear.

All my unit is brand new and not yet burn in..so i will let it burn baby and later hopefully i can write more noob review on it :)

What is good about superlux is its high quality audio but you dont have to pay premium for it!

Lexar Class 10 32GB micro SD card benchmark.

Recently i get myself a Lexar Class 10 32GB micro SD card to be used with HTC EVO 3D. Surprisingly the read and write speed is not in quantum league compare to the original Class 4 16gb card.
I have try to use edit the cache size for SD from 128 to 512 but the performance do not improve much.. Maybe it is the Android 2.3.4 issue. We need a fix for this!!!!

i flash to this ROM yesterday.

1.After flash the WIFI dont work but i have apply the fix mention in this forum and the problem is solved now.
2. Dice is not working. I uninstall it so that this icon dont appear
3. The BEAT preset equalizer dont work. There is no difference between the normal and BEAT preset.
4. Running benchmark using Quadrant Standard give me score between 1300 to max 1700! that is low compare to my stock ROM which can give me score at a region on 1800+. I try the 3 CPU add on fix on the first page of this thread and the result is the same. This ROM gives low benchmark score for quadrant. I even try to use setcPU to set to performance and set the max and min to the highest speed. I still get bad results in Quadrant. A very noticeable drop in FPS when benchmarking the graphic.
5. Battery life compare to stock i think is better.
6. HTC Friend widget will cause the HTC sense to lag.
7. HTC sense will force close after initial reboot. Intermittent problem
8. THe HDR mode in the camera do not do any real HDR. It is the same as normal mode.

The only real advantage for me to flash to this ROM is the battery life. Thats about it. Other than that i dont see any significant improvement over the stock HTC rom.

Anyway i would like to say thanks to the developer for this ROM because of the amount of effort spend in developing this ROM

Insane benchmark result...lower score compare to stock rom!!

I am going to continue my review based on real world example and honest comment..

Issue 3.:-The WebStore have plenty of non quality apps..Why i say non quality. Some of them dont even launch properly and exit. Majority is not optimized based on HP TouchPad screen resolution. And most application is not even useful....

For god sake..Nyan cat in HP webstore?? oh please...

Issue 4: I notice HP removed all PAID apps from the web store. This is evidence that the HP Touchpad is going to be a fossil soon...

Issue 5: As you can see from the pic above. Apps is not optimized based on the HP Tablet Screen Resolution! This is really not acceptable. If HP is going to compete against Apple this is going to put HP down the drain..

The native Internet browser works fine. I can goto 2 most famous website, facebook.com and youtube.com Flash work as advertised :) However one thing worth mentioning is the touch screen is somehow not responsive. Let me explain, the touch screen is responsive however the OS is not. When you try to click on a button, it always a hit and miss.

Issue 6: The Adobe Reader works fine however to load the adobe reader is a nightmare..In fact loading time for most of the application in WebOS is superslow..as slow as 10 to 30 second! no kidding!

This is another app which is not optimized for HP TouchPad. What a dissapointment.

Even the native clock is boring and look not interesting..

Maps is usable but again..very slow startup time...

But not all apps is useless..the photo gallery and surprisingly 1 games which i forgot whats its name is usable..

Another comment i have is even the Angry Bird Rio is not optimized based on HP TouchPad screen resolution!!

Summary

Please do not waste your hard earn money on this junk unless you are a very technical guy who plan to hack this device and put Android OS into it to give it a second life..

hehehe HP Tablet VS my Apple Ipad!

Ok when you buy a new gadget what do you do? Power it up of course! But do you know how long it takes to power up the HP Tablet ? It take 1 minutes +..thats a long time for a dual core processor. Something is wrong with the optimization of WebOS i think..

Issue 1: Startup Time: 1 minute +-

Ok Shown below is how the apps is being categorize in WebOS. The Apps quality is very very low. Most of the stuff in the web store dont event work. And do make matter worst you wont be able to find any PAID apps cause i think HP remove them. You can only find FREE non quality apps..

Well I have no issue on how they group those apps ala ipad icon style..

The first issue an noob like me will encounter is how to close the apps~!! There is no X button or exit button. Instead you have to press on the home button and it will return to the main menu and minimize into square snapshot of the apps. The WebOS call it cards. You have to touch on the card and swipe up to close the apps.

Issue 2
If you open a lot of apps and then minimize them into cards. then you wont be able to connect to your PC via USB mode. An error message will pop up to ask you to close the cards in order to proceed. Kinda of stupid. Android and IOS never have this issue..

1. Use the longest tele lens u have..eg zuiko digital 70-300mm
2. Use spot metering
3. Use iso100 shutter speed 1/100 and aperture f10/f11
4. Voila with this setting you can even take the moon pic handheld!!
5. But of course it is better you have a tripod
6. Use a remote control to avoid shake. While on tripod turn off the IS image stabiliser
7. Use mirror lockup if your slr support this function.
8. With the tips above you should be able to capture fantastic moon photo!

How it work..

1. They claim that the normal price for the service is let say rm38 they will mark up the price at certain percentage and then sell you the coupon at rm30 and claim that they give you 80% discount or 50% discount when the actual discount is no where near.

2. Samsung Omnia i900 3 year Aniversary

I still remember when my wife bought me an Samsung Omnia i900 as my birthday present. It was the king of mobile back then...err beside the iphone. It has the highest spec in the industry..but but now it was so outdated. It have gone through lots of surgery...i battery replacement, a touch screen transplant operation ..and now it is as good as new..

but with all the Android hype, can this old Samsung i900 run adroid Witu? the answer is yes it can run, however a lot of function is not supported cause Samsung do not want to release the information on how to interface the Android with its i900 hardware. So fella Omnians out there dont even bother to try the so call Android port of Samsung i900 cause it is not usable at all.!! I repeat not usable at all..

It is better off with its faithful Windows Mobile 6.5 .

But is this lil hardware still usable now? Well it is..you can use it as a MP3 player, A media player if you have the TV output cable, a phone (of course this is a phone right) and a simple web browser in needy time when all my iphone, ipad and alienware laptop is malfunction!!

How to Jailbreak PS3 on v3.55 Firmware:

1. Plug a USB stick into your computer
2. Create a folder in the root of the USB stick called PS3
3. Create a folder inside the PS3 folder called UPDATE
4. Download http://geohot.com/jailbreak.zip
5. Unzip Jailbreak.zip to PS3UPDAT.PUP
6. Move PS3UPDAT.PUP to the directory UPDATE that you just created on the USB stick
7. Plug the USB stick into your PS3
8. Navigate to Settings Tab
9. Choose System Update
10. Choose Update via Storage Media
11. It will say it found Version 3.55-jb
12. Choose OK
13. Accept Conditions and Install Update
14. After less than a minute, your PS3 will update, beep 4 times then shut down.
15. Power up your PS3 (You will have to do it on the console and not by the controller)

The fucking reviewer lie about the bluetooth headset. I am not sure how much nokia paid this idiot to lie. Perhaps this blog is own by nokia.,

Here are the reasons why i say it is not good.

1. The sound quality sucks.. no bass at all.
2. The iem fitting is crap. You can hardly fit the IEM onto your ear properly. That translate to very very poor sound.
3. The fitting is not comfortable. It get loose and fall off easily
4. The material is cheap. Break easily
5. Sould quality of microphone sub standard..lousy

Do you own an Apple Ipad. Have you wonder why this god damn piece of device do not have a usb port or SD card slot? Do you wonder how can you read content and copy content from Apple Ipad to usb thumbdrive.?

All you need is a Ipad Camera connection kit. This thing come with 2 dongle...one with usb port and another with SD card reader.

You gonna need the one with usb port. Plug it into your Ipad. Plug in a thumbdrive and the stupid Ipad will tell ya device not supported and stuff like that. Just dismiss that stupid error message. Launch iFile and your device is mount under var/mnt/device1

Ok if your usb thumbdrive get an error saying not enough voltage or something like that..go get yourself another usb thumbdrive which does not use a lot of power... i cant tell you which brand but i just found out the one given by trend micro as a free gift works well with my ipad!!

Well for those ipad 2 owner..too bad..cause if you cant jailbreak your device you aint gonna get Ifile and so you cant use a thumbdrive like i do...hahahha i dont know why i feel so evil..

Fiio E11 Portabla Amplifier Review

This is not a professional review of the Fiio E11 like what Clieos did. I am not an audiophille. I just wanna share my findings and opinion on this FiiO E11 portable headphone Amplifier.
This amp cost me rm222 . According to the seller it is a prebook pricing.

I still remember my first portable amp is the Fiio E5 which look like ipod shuffle. I was really happy with Fiio E5 cause it make my dull Klipsch Custom-1 alive!! In lair man term..it add bass to my custom-1

I did not buy any designer headphone or earphone after the klipsch custom-1 purchase, well i dont consider Roccat Kave to be a audiophille headphone :P..

Recently this year i was introduce to Superlux HD668B , HD681 and HD381. These cheap china headphone really shock me cause it sound better than some of the audiophile grade headphone on the market..

Ops i sidetrack.. ok let me get back to Fiio E11. It come with an aluminium casing. Very minimalist design on the outside. No fancy advertisement..

As you can see there is a knob here which serve as an on off switch as well as volume control. Beware cause turning it to the max level can make you deaf!!!
this is the size of it in comparison to the iphone 4. As you can see i did use the iphone 4 as my source via Fiio L3 as the LOD to connect to E11. With this setup you cannot control the volume via iphone 4 but via the e11. However i notice something strange. You can still change the EQ setting on the iphone 4!! Weird weird...
This is my usual setup Superlux Hd681 + iphone4 + Fiio E11/L3

Superlux Hd681 is a bassy and fun headphone. It is not as dull as some studio headphone. But it still retain the mid and high though the mid and high is not as pronounce as HD668B. Pairing this headphone with E11 make the bass sound more punchy...! and the overall sound is smoother..However using E11 on the Hd668B give me very lil difference..maybe i will retest this later..

It comes with a band and 3.5 to 3.5 connector. It also have a usb charging cable which is not in this pic. sorry..:P

I notice you can switch the E11 to high power or lower power mode. You have to remove the battery to see this. I leave it at High power and i believe it will suck more battery power in this mode..

Yeah it is made in China. No problem my Sony PS3 is also made in China.
This is the usb charging port. While charging you cannot use the E11. Kind of lame. hopefully they fix this in the future..
The in and out port. and the volume knob. Becarefull while handling the volume knob cause it can be really loud. I think a volume limiter function should be implement.
The Gain high low and the EQ 0 1 2 which simply mean no bass, more bass, plenty of bass!!
The Gain is equivalent to my car kenwood headunit loudness function. It increase the loudness. I prefer the gain setting at Low. And my prefered EQ setting is 2.

Liu YiFei as siu sin is no where near the original Joey Wong 王祖賢. And nin choi sun look like a dirty minded geek.
Louis Koo as Yin Chixia is also a joke.

This version actually show Yin Chixia is siu sin original lover but he make her forget about him. Later Siu Sin meet nin choi sun and they make love but in the end Yin Chixia have to make her remember because he need to extract a weapon used to seal her memory. At the ending she say that she love Yin and also Nin Choi Sun. WtF...She loves both of them!!

The fighting scene is worst than ultraman and the original version of chinese ghost story is way way better even last time they do not have all this fancy technology and CGI.

Overall please dont waste your money and go watch this movie. A total junk..

Apple Ipad 1 vs Motorola Xoom

If you stumble accross this page most likely you are having trouble to select between the Apple ipad 1 or Motorola Xoom or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

I am not going to go through all the spec of each unit but instead i will tell you why Apple Ipad 1 is a much better choice despite it lower hardware specification.

As you all have known.. i own lots of gadgets. SLR, Olympus PEN, Iphone 4, Samsung Omnia, and the list continue on..My goal of getting a tablet is not to replace my other better gadgets such as Olympus PEN,iphone 4 or even my dsLR.

The reason i want a tablet is becasue:-

1. I want a portable media player which can play 720p movie. Why not 1080p? no need dude..the screen is just 9 to 10 inch and trust me 720p look damn fantastic already.
2. To be able to access my corporate email.
3. To be able to play game like infinity blade.
4. To be able to surf net
5. To be able to listen to music
6. To be able to do stock trading transaction
7. To be able to view my office document
8. To be able to become a GPS navigator

Why Apple Ipad 1 is better because of its usability.

1.The user interface is simple but it is because of its simplicity it is fast.
2.It is cheaper now thanks to Ipad 2 launch
3. The duo core processor will not make any diff now cause most app is single threading anyway
4. The only improvement is the graphic but if i wanna play really intensive graphic game i will use my alienware m11x
5. So many accessory to choose from!
6. Chick magnet
7. Once jailbreak the possibility is endless just like android.
8. Dont need the Apple ipad 2 camera cause to use a tablet as a camera is really not cool.U have shaky images due to non movement cause it is not easy holding a tablet still and take photograph.
9. Motorola xoom or Samsung tablet just like my samsung omnia will come to end of life real fast due to no support from Motorola or Samsung. Yes android is free but the driver or architecture of the device is proprietary. So if Samsung did not release these information, you are screwed.. A good example is developers is not able to port a working version of android for Samsung omnia i900

Well dont shoot me cause i like Apple gadgets but Apple ipad rulez...

Thanks to Datuk Seri Nancy Yeoh, CEO and President of STYLO, i was able to take part in all of this spectacular event.

Yesterday RAIN concert in F1 Sepang is fantastic. Rain (born Jung Ji-Hoon; June 25, 1982) is a South Korean pop and R&B singer, dancer, model, actor, businessman, and designer. I feel like i am in Korea because the whole group of Korean girls behind me was cheering like crazy...!! Real fan i would say..But i am not so lucky all thus jumping and thumping on the platform is a disaster for my photography due to shaky picture. Shooting at 600mm equivalent hand hold is no easy feat. The concert area Helipad in Sepang is not exactly full. But i would say is not the quantity of the crowd, is the quality. Loud cheering and screaming is enough to bring the atmospehere to party mode. Too tired today, will post more picture of RAIN later..sorry no pics on the Hot Korean girsl behind me :P

First Nitecore D11.2 in Malaysia! Compare with Nitecore D10

I was so excited when my dad call me and let me know my parcel has arrived!. It was my Nitecore D11 version 2. The Nitecore D11 is more user friendly compare to D10. The major changes i would say is in the how the LED is control. The ramping of light to brightest to dimmest has changed. D11 v2 allow you to ramp up or down smoothly unlike the Nitecore D10.

Here is my mini non professional review on the Nitecore D11 version 2.

The packaging have not change much. It did not give you that "premium" kind of impression. It is a simple packaging which includes the LED torchlight, the lanyard and the spare o ring.

If you notice the 145 lumen is not exactly new. The D10 SP10 R2 is having 145 Lumen as well but do pay attention of the number of hours it could last. This beast can last 1.5 hours compare to 1 hours (nitecore d10)

The D11.2 also come with a advertising booklet. It gives you some background on what is this LED and why it is so special. Interesting reading material though.

The overall finish of the D11.2 is emaculate. In fact i like the D11.2 better compare to my D10 cause i can grip it better. Maybe because of the new shape design at the mid of the LED.

Comparison between the D11.2 and D10. Notice the size did not change. This is good. Cause i am not expecting a bigger size AA LED light. The D11.2 size is just want i wanted. If you notice the tail design is different too.

This is the famous piston drive that nitecore LED have. I think it is the only manufacturer that come up with this design.

Notice the texture on the D11.2 and D10? It has not change much and i am ok with it cause this texture provide maximum grip. The D10 and D11.2 is kinda of small, slightly longer and bigger than an AA size battery. A good texture on the LED is very important.

Nitecore D11.2 and D10..Back to back..

A peep into the heart of the D11.2. The CREE Premium R5 LED.
I do not have the picture on the BEAM of both D10 and D11.2 but what i can say is that the D11.2 have smoother focus beam. Unlike the D10 which has a very focus bright throw light at the mid and fade of quite significantly at the corona, the D11.2 is much more smoother. It gives you the impression that the overall throw light is much more brighter and the corona around the mid throw light is not noticable too. It is kinda of hard for me to explain in words. Let me prepare and get a picture to show you guys what it mean.

I notice that my D10 has warmer light profile compare to D11.2

The user interface change slightly. Click once to on and click once to off.

While the LED is on. Click and hold the tail button to ramp light up or down. When it reach it max brightest it will flash once and vice versa.

It have the same SOS and strobe light. Both can be activated with while LED is off. Quickly click once and hold or Quickly click 2 time and hold.

Another thing worth mentioning is this LED is build like a tank. It can withstand quite a number of abuse. The only weakness it have is do not use alkaline battery. It the battery leak into the piston, the only way to revive it is get another piston. I guess this weakness apply to all electronic gadgets.

Ok that all for today folks. I will add in more information if i find anything interesting to share and pardon me for my unprofessional review!!

Jalan Pasar is a street in Kuala lumpur where you can get all the cool and cheap electronic spare parts. But beware of the counterfeit and stolen product that the peddlers try to sell you. It is a very busy street because there is a wet market here as well.

I went there in search of electronic gadgets but left that place dissapointed because nothing catch my attention.

1. Refer to the manual on how to install the software and the driver.
2. On your desktop, there will be a Mobile Connect icon. Double click it to open Mobile Connect application.
3. If it requires PIN, enter 1234 (this is the default PIN unless you have changed the PIN). If not, just go to step no 4.
4. Go to Settings, and select Manual and select Celcom.
5. Then go to Settings again, select Choose Connection Type and choose 3G only. This is to ensure that the device will only connect to 3G network.
6. Go to Settings one more time and choose Network Connection Settings.
i. Click New and enter the profile name. Eg: Celcom 3G.
ii. Authetication - number: *99#; Username: ; Password:
iii. DNS Settings choose Dynamic.
iv. APN and Additional Settings: Static; APN: celcom3g
v. IP Settings: Dynamic

Lately i dump my streamyx connection in exchange for Unifi VIP5 package. I get very fast upload and download speed now. extremely happy user :) i get average 4.9 Mbps

My setup to is far from my TV so to enable the set top box to reach it i use Axtech home plug. but there is a catch..you cant plug the Aztech home plug to an extension cord cause it wont work properly. You need to plug it into the direct wall socket..

Engine Sensor issue in chevrolet optra 1.6

Recently i notice that the engine oil indicator on my chevrolet optra 1.6 light up when i was driving.. A quick check on the engine oil and water shows everything is normal..but another check on the engine sensor shows sign of engine oil leaking from the sensor.. If anyone get the same symptom go and have your sensor replace.

A normal workshop will charge you around rm140 including labor to change this engine sensor but the sensor itself only cost rm70

PJ Volcar Service Centre Sdn Bhd is Lousy....

I send my car to PJ Volcar in Jalan 222 for servicing. A major one which include top overhaul. After 3 months of usage the engine gasket is leaking ...and they claim they change the gasket for me again.. But after another 3 months when i do my normal car service in another workshop in glenmarie..shared auto services...i get a shock of my life.. The technician told me that the metal nut that hold the screw is missing. Please refer to the picture below..

I call PJ Volcar and complain but they seem to ignore me and claim that they will not honor this type of problem as they claim they have change the gasket seal once and if it leak again is not their problem. WTF...The root cause is because the stupid engineer in PJ Volcar lost the nut and when they tighten the screw on the engine top it break the gasket cover..

I would not recommend any Chevrolet car owner to goto PJ Volcar service center. Stay away from that service center at all cost...Yeah not to mention that their price is very high..i think they still charging sky high price base on official SC price list.. but aren;t they aware they are not the official SC for chevrolet car anymore!!

Just another thing to add..they used to be ok but once their trusted engineer and worker resign things start to get worst..

My recent visit to the Kuala Lumpur Internation Motor Show is lil dissapointed.. I feel that other major car brand like BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, etc is not really participating here as i dont see any concept cars from them.. However Proton and perodua booth is the boldest here...with their catchy Perodua Bezaa set to steal the limelight...

There are not many car accessory booth too..compare to the previous KLIM i think this one has the least number of booth selling accessories..or maybe it is just my feel..

As usual many photographer crowd this place to take advantage to improve their photography skill photographing ahemm models...

As usual i see lots of hardcore using all sort of device to capture the photo of the model ranging from Sony PSP with a cam, and camera from handphone..

In this visit i use Olympus E-P2 with panasonic Leica summilux 25mm f1.4 to try and capture the beauty with available lights..but sometime the light is just not enough that i resort to use the FL-50R flash..but 99% of the photo is shot with available lights..enjoy..

Howto secure your jailbreak Iphone 4

This is a guide to secure your iphone 4 if you ever jailbreak it..

Run Cydia and navigate through / Manage/ Sources/ Edit/ select Add

Use cydia search to find and install the current beta Terminal for iOS4 (just search for terminal as only 2 download options appeared on mine and the ios4 compatible terminal is clearly marked)

Hit the home button on your phone and run terminal (note that passwords and commands below are shown with quotes. do NOT enter the quotes as they are solely to identify the relevant required input data)

Type in “su root” and hit RETURN.

Type the root password “alpine” and hit RETURN.

You are now logged in as root. Type “passwd” and hit RETURN.

input a new password (dont do a short simple one) and hit RETURN. You won’t see anything being entered on the terminal screen during password entries so pay attention to what you are typing on the keypad.

the iPhone will now ask you to retype the new password, so type in your newly created password and hit RETURN.

Type Exit

Respring and thats it for the root password.

Dont forget to change your mobile$ password as well while you are here. It is done almost exactly the same as the root apart from one difference.

Run Terminal and you will see it says mobile$ on screen and is waiting for a command.

Type “passwd” and touch RETURN. You will be prompted for the original default mobile “alpine” password here so enter it and hit RETURN

input a new password (for ease of use use the same new password you used for the root password) and hit RETURN. (as before, you won’t see anything during password entries so pay attention to what you are typing on the keypad).

it will now prompt you to retype the new password, so type in your new password and hit RETURN. (Nothing is shown to say it has worked here, the software only gives you a message if your confirmation password entry fails to match the new password just entered

Type Exit

Respring and thats it, Job done and both passwords changed.

Howto update the Papago M7 Malaysia Singapore Map

Goto Download WinSCP or Here to download WinSCP 4.29

Goto here to get the map for Malaysia (you need to download the Custom version of papago map)
Get the map from this forum. credit goto malfreemap admin

Ok once you have all the file ready..install open ssh in your apple iphone 4

then get your iphone 4 wifi ip address

Ok once completed open the WinSCP in your windows. I tested it on Windows 7 64 bit. no issue..

key in the hostname: ip address of your apple iphone 4 connected to the same wifi router as your pc
key in username: root
key in password: alpine

and click on the login button.

Click on the "Update" or "Copy Key"

Once it is loaded browse to

on the left pane are the extracted papago maps you downloaded from malfreemaps located on your pc. on your right pane is the file on your iphone 4.

You can select all the files on your left pane and drag the file to your right pane. when asked whether to overwrite duplicate files. choose "Yes to All"

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 Low fps Fixing Guide

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit runs in very low fps but players usually do not know what to do. Is the Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHZ or AMD Athlonx2 5200+ 2.7ghz CPU causing the low fps problem?

1. To fix this, you'd first try lowing setting in frame rate.

2. Update your CPU to the latest or new ones if you want to play max out games like Dirt 2. A 2.7ghz CPU or 3.0ghz will not run Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (Forthcoming patches) in low fps.

3. Update drivers if you are facing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit low fps on PC. This will improve the GPU performance. AA can be enabled by new AMD Catalyst 10.11 Video Card Driver for Win7.

4. The game may require patched. Download a new released patch to update your game. Latest Patches for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010.

No player folder in Call of Duty Black Ops

Hi if you are using alienware m11x with windows 7 64 bit to play call of duty : black ops and you want to open the game console..then most probably you are fumbling your way to get the config.cfg file..

well the actual location of this file is here

C:\Users\Yumero\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty - Black Ops\players\

Cause i have been searching high and low for the players folder and there it is hiding there..

the reason i wanna mess with the config.cfg file is because i wanna enable the console in COD black ops.

2. Now search for “seta monkeytoy”. You can press CTRL+F and type it in.
3. Change seta monkeytoy “1″ to seta monkeytoy “0″, replacing 1 with zero.

Butterfly Park KL - E3 vs E-P2. Part1

This is my first visit to butterfly park..not much species can ba found there ..only the few common one...like the famous rajah brooke. The park was quite run down..ponds with death fish..is not what exactly i have in mind..

My gear of the day is Olympus E-3 + Zuiko digital 70-300 vs Olympus E-P2 + Zuiko digital 50mm f2.0
And also a FL-50R flash to share among these 2 setup.

Both are macro lens giving 1:2 magnification. It is not so bad carrying these 2 setup cause e-p2 is quite light.

Some claim that the butterfly is fast and constantly moving..but the real trick in capturing their photo is to know them. Butterfly in the farm feeding time is at around 9 am in the morning. You will notice more of them come and feed on the nectar more frequent compare to let say 12pm. So even if you are arm with a Olympus PEN with slow AF you can still get a decent picture of the butterfly.

Just like chinese strategem always say.."To win the war , know your enemy" . You do not need a full frame camera and a SLR with world fastest AF. In fact using FF SLR for macro is a lil bit disadvantage because of the DOF.

This round i am going to post those pictures capture using PEN E-P2 + Zuiko 50mm f2.0. Focussing is tricky. I have to set the AF point to single point cause using multipoint will confuse the camera into focusing the leaves or flower instead of the butterfly. single AF point with S-AF is fine. I did try manual focussing and it is not too bad..with the large LCD it is easy but unfortunately i did not bring any tripod and my shaky hand did not help either..so i stick back to Auto focus.
