Light Bringer

 Today mark the 3 day of using my new Samsung S21 Ultra 5G. It amaze me how those paid reviewer can claim that this phone can last a day with good battery life.  Just for the record a day means 24 hours not 8 hours. Today from morning 9am i play pokemon for 2 hours, watch youtube for 1 hour and 10 minutes , facebook for 38 minutes and run geekbench for 24 minutes ( 1 run it more than one time to see if the numbers go up or not) and 8 minutes of Waze (GPS) The battery drop from 100% (9 in the morning) to 30% (7pm in the afternoon) at an alarming rate.  As of writing now is 8pm and the battery life is at 25%.  So the battery life is not superb but barely pass my real world test because ussually by 8pm i will be back at home and have access to my charge to charge my phone. Now i wonder why those reviewer claim the battery life is very good.

Today is the second day, battery life dip to a dangeorus low level with just approximately 13 hours of usage. Some hardcore samsung users indicate i need to give 1 week time for it to improve. Well i will wait and see. I also took a few photos to check out how good is the camera at low light. Check out all these out of the camera photos , unedited. As you can see it handle blue sky quite well with good dynamic range. The zoom lens is good too in good lighting.  This is where it start to fail. Under heavy red shadow everything turns red. I guess this is a problem with the camera sensor. I will try to take some low light photos tonight.Stay tune...

It's been a long time i blog but this time what bring me back is the new Samsung S21 Ultra 5G. I have been a Huawei P30 pro users for 2 years. Everything is fine till google do not allow Huawei to use their Google services on newer devices such as Huawei P40 and above. So i waited patiently for a new Android flagship phone which have a good camera, large storage (512GB) and most important of all is able to use Google services. I know there are alternate way to sideload Google services into newer Huawei phone but i do not want to spend so much money on a flagship and then have to spend so much effort just to make it work. I found out Zishan has released a new firmware for Z1 player. It supports three new playback modes. download here.. The update is simple. All you need is the ZiShan_Z1_0.2.zip and a TF card. I used a 32GB TF card in FAT32 format. 1) Turn off Z1 player; 2) Extract app.bin from ZiShan_Z1_0.2.zip, and put it in the root directory of the TF card; 3) Insert the TF card into the player; 4) Turn on the Z1 player. The LED light will be on for 3 seconds and then blink ultra-fast for around 5 seconds. (Done). 5) Remove the file app.bin in the card. What's new in v0.2: 1) Add 180 EQ settings. (WTF...it's a screen-less player.) 2) Add 3 playback modes: Repeat, Shuffle and Default. (Very useful for me.) 3) Fix a DSD problem. How to choose playback modes: Press 'Prev' for a few seconds until the LED light blinks faster than normal, then release. Pros: Solid build, A Lot of details and smooth high, the mid think and laid back at time depending on the source and the bass is great as expected from a dynamic driver. Cons: Source dependent.
