Microsoft Forefront Client Security VS Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0

I did a test between Microsoft Forefront Client Security VS Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0

Install both client into the MS Windows 2003 Server with SQL 2005 and MS Rights Management Services Server running.

Shown below are the memory utilize by both AV




So here we can see that Trend Micro and MS forefront have a tie! Both use the same amount of memory. But please bear in mind that the Forefront fail the spycar.org test. Therefore Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0 is still a better choice.

Thanks for the information, i was just trying to decide between renewing my trend micro office scan licenses or switching to microsoft forefront! I think we'll be sticking with TrendMicro

Can you show us what the dat version was? I ran the spycar test with FCS and it detected all of the different test.

I conducted this test in January 2010 and i did feedback to the Microsoft Technical Accout Manager...Most probably they fix it now with the latest dat.

Anyway Forefront Clinet need at least MS WSUS, MS SQL and another server to host the MS Forefront Server just to manage a min on 5000 client as oppose to Symantec or Trend Micro who just need a single server setup to do the same thing..in term of licensing Forefront might be cheaper but overall you do the maths...

Zishan Z1 firmware Update and Manual

I found out Zishan has released a new firmware for Z1 player. It supports three new playback modes. download here.. The update is simple. All you need is the ZiShan_Z1_0.2.zip and a TF card. I used a 32GB TF card in FAT32 format. 1) Turn off Z1 player; 2) Extract app.bin from ZiShan_Z1_0.2.zip, and put it in the root directory of the TF card; 3) Insert the TF card into the player; 4) Turn on the Z1 player. The LED light will be on for 3 seconds and then blink ultra-fast for around 5 seconds. (Done). 5) Remove the file app.bin in the card. What's new in v0.2: 1) Add 180 EQ settings. (WTF...it's a screen-less player.) 2) Add 3 playback modes: Repeat, Shuffle and Default. (Very useful for me.) 3) Fix a DSD problem.
