I think the mere blacklisting is not enough. This Myer Photo and Audio Co. Ltd. should be penalize if not criminally, administratively by the Hongkong's Consumer Protection Council. We had the same experience. Fujifilm S5800 was sold to us for HK$4000+ ---the actual cost is only HK$1,700.

Is there anyway we could report them to the authority there?

We reported the matter to the Consumer Council of Hongkong but their reply is just the standard computer generated response. Accordingly, they will communicate with me ASAP. I made a follow up but receive the same computer generated reply. I really suffered emotional pains for having been fooled. I just want to give the best for my son. The person I talked to at Myer said that the fujifilm is the best that I could give my son. Now am going back to Hongkong on October 17 and buying again the Nikon DSLR which my son requested me to buy for him the last time.

I agree - we were scammed by them too. Should have done more research ahead of time so I take some responsiblity, but as a warning to other tourists - stay away!

i can confirm the i mobile shop experience...i bought an "unlocked iphone", which worked fine for the first days, then it was all off a sudden locked; calling Apple they told me the phone was recently stolen in the US, and there s no way for me to get it unlocked or anything. So i trashed 600USD :-(

How do you know Apple was telling the truth? Were you contacted by police to return the stolen goods?

I am a victim too of Myer Photo And Audio Co.,Ltd. Just recently, last feb. 26, 2009,(as of this writing, this is very few days ago) I bought my DSC-W220 at this shop for HK$4,970 and when I looked at other shops prices, it only costs HK$1,200. This is stupidest of me to believe the sugary salestalk and be duped by this shop. I am furious and madder as mad can get. In the Philippines, this will cost me HK$3000 in 12 months installment at 0% interest plus 3 years warranty plus a chance to win a vacation. Ergo, don't buy anything in hongkong unless you are absolutely sure that you get a bargain. Instead enjoy Disneyland, Oceanpark and just ogle to other merchandises but never buy, NEVER BUY! I lodged a complaint at the Trade and Industry Department but I received only a generated reply. I hope the Hong Kong government doesn't condone such dirty business--to bleed their tourists by overpricing.

when buying, check the product reviews thru the internet so you will know the best and what u need, also check the retail prices. Dont just believe what salesman says, sometimes they dont know much about the product they sell. Most are just sales talk. Dont buy on small shops around hong kong, go to popular shopping malls, actually, prices dont really differ much, at least you will have a peace of mind.

I had a similar experience. I asked for a Olympus 70-300 mm objective. It was sold for 2500 HKD and 150 HKD for a filter, which is really cheap. Unfortunately I did not have my glasses with me. So when I came back in the hotel I saw that they keyed in 3650 HKD on the credit card slip. That this was not on purpose vcan be seen on the bill which they quickly put in the bag. Afterwards they can always say that I agreed.

Hi. Just had a similar case w/ myer photo. Those guys suck! They make you a fool buying there gears knowing that you were given s discounted price but instead charging you a to a higher price. They would even tell taht hongkong is a free market after telling them that i was fooled by them...

i just spoke to them and they said it's not their problem and i shouldn't make a big deal about it. wtf?!?! i said it is a big deal because it's my money and now i have a broken camera. they will not exchange it. instead they insist i bring it to olympus service center in hongkong. i'm furious!! i really hope something can be done about that store and the people in it...:(

I was scammed by the Myer Photo and Audio Co. too. When I demanded that I exchange the merchandise they sold to me, they refused to and showed the fine print in the invoice bearing the no exchange policy. I reported them to the police and the consumer council but both parties said that I cannot file a complaint because it is the prerogative of the retailer to accept or refuse a return and most do accept if there is only a product defect.
The owner of Myer even said that it's not his fault that I was naive enough to buy the product they gave me.

MYER PHOTO AND AUDIO strikes again! Beware of SING OR SENG OF MYER PHOTO. Purchased Cybershot H55 at USD420. Best price according to Sing. Passing by others stores, this same model was being sold for HKD2200, and price still negotiable with added accessories. THe price of USD420 is equivalent to higher model of Cybershot HX5V, and price still negotiable with accessories.
He makes you feel that his time is precious and if you don't buy, he wasted his time. Remember you are the one with the money so if he doesn't want to sell, just turn your back next time and go to the next store. Many, many stores in HKG.
And in HKG, once they have money in their hand, it sticks like glue and you CANNOT get a refund even if you have a heart attack right infront of them. SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!
Its a good camera but over priced. Lesson learned.

Me and my husband also had the same experienced, we went to Myer Photo and Audio Co. Ltd. last july 4,2010. We bought the Sony Camera DSC-W320 for Hkd 2750, but then when we checked the item through the internet, it only cost HKD 1890 in HK. Grrrrrhh!!! Almost half the price they have marked-up. What the HELL are they!!! that shop should be CLOSE down soon.

We hope the HK police will do something about them....pls. their shop tel no. 23672488/23671944.
